I have been grappling with a dilemma of relationships…
Primarily, how do we decide which relationships are worth keeping, rebuilding, forgiving, investing in and which ones do we let go of no matter how difficult and painful the process might be?
As a love and relationships coach, I feel privileged to guide my clients’ through their significant relationships’ dynamics. What I realized in the process is although our stories and life’s circumstances differ, we all want the same thing. We want to live fully and have healthy relationships with people in our lives. We want to be accepted and seen for our essence of who we truly are.
However, our intentions are not always received the way we want them to be received and all of a sudden there is disconnect, distance, tension, and constricting feelings. All of a sudden we feel hurt, misunderstood, angry, rejected…
While all these emotions are beautiful and natural (there is no right or wrong emotion by the way), it is important to realize that when dealing with other human beings, we bump against their life’s path, experiences, traumas, triggers, and patterns.
It is so IMPORTANT to understand that each and every one of us has the right to react and respond in their own way.
So, what do we do in this case?
We check our intentions with openness and humility. We quiet the mind and we breathe…we ask to be shown because if we choose to be real humans in this human world, I think relationships are the best possible school for us. They offer insights into who we are, what makes us happy, what our own triggers are, what our subconscious patterns are that we took on and continue to project into the world.
But also…we need to realize that we are in charge of our own happiness and what we choose to accept. We are not responsible for someone else’s words, actions, or behaviors and we are not to interfere with another soul’s evolution.
Be open to be shown dear one. Your heart knows when to rebuild, forgive, talk it through, and give it a chance or when it is best to let go of toxic patterns, to surrender to what is, and just let it BE. You have all the answers, just allow to be shown and ACCEPT what is.
