Fragrant Holiday Recipes

It is that time of the year upon us again…Time to share happy memorable moments with friends and favily while savoring delicious food. Here are some special holiday recipes that will bring an abundance of blissful fragrance to your holiday menu. Enjoy!

CREAMY CHICKEN SPINACH TORTELLINI SOUP

    Ingredients:

  • 2-3 cups of cooked, cubed chicken

  • 1 box (4 cups) Chicken Broth

  • 2 cups low-fat milk

  • 2 (10.5 oz) cans or 1 (22.6oz) can cream of chicken soup

  • 2 (10oz) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

  • 2 (9 oz) packages of refrigerated cheese tortellini, or any flavor you prefer

  • 2 drops each Thyme and Rosemary essential oil

  • Ground pepper to taste

Cook tortellini in a Dutch oven according to package directions except use 2 cups chicken broth instead of water. Add rest of chicken broth, cream soup, and milk, then gently stir in the thawed & drained spinach, and cooked chicken. Bring to a boil, cover, and then reduce heat to medium. Cook until thoroughly heated. Turn off heat then stir in just two drops each Thyme and Rosemary essential oils (try for one drop and you’ll probably get two!) Add ground pepper to taste & stir to incorporate. Serve with a side salad if you’re an over-achiever.

CRAN-APPLE THIEVES MARTINI

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces cran-apple juice
  • 2 drops Young Living Thieves essential oil
  • ice to fill cocktail shaker
  • apple for garnish, optional

Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake, shake, shake, and pour into your favorite martini glass. Garnish with apple if you like.  Cheers!

Sugar Cookie Orange Cream Mini Tarts

Ingredients:sugar-cookie

1 box Sugar Cookie mix (or make your own!)
Ingredients to make sugar cookies
1 box Instant Vanilla pudding.  Cheesecake would also be yummy!
2 cups milk
3-4 drops of Young Living Orange Essential Oil  (Lime, Grapefruit, Lemon, or Citrus Fresh would also be good!)
Strawberries, sliced thin
1 Orange peel, grated

Special tools needed:
Mini cupcake pan

Preheat the oven to 350.  Spray a mini cupcake pan with cooking spray.
Mix the Sugar Cookie dough as directed on package, or make your own.  Roll the dough into Tablespoon sized balls. Place the balls into the mini cupcake pan.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
After baking, take the handle of a large wooden spoon, and poke a hole in the center of the dough. You might need more than one hole, and to stretch the dough as you poke.
Let the shells cool.

Make the pudding according to package directions.  Stir in a few drops of Orange Oil, and taste. Add more if needed. Refrigerate pudding until set.

Fill the tart shells with the pudding mix.  Place strawberry slices on top, and sprinkle with Orange peel.  Serve cold.
