Fun Boost and Soothe Your Outdoor Workout Routines With Essential Oils!

For many of us, summer time is not the time to be stuck in a cold air-conditioned gym. Outside workouts are healthy and fun! Did you know that essential oils can enhance and ease your outdoor workout routine? You most likely would reach for a towel and a water bottle when heading outdoors for jogging, running, walking, rollerblading, swimming, or yoga stretching. Well, allow me to introduce some essential oils that I personally use in my summer workout regimen.
* Turn your boring water bottle into refreshing, cooling, and energizing hydration by adding 1-2 drops of Peppermint essential oil to it. Not only it will enhance your workout and will help you avoid popular sport drinks that are high in calories and added sodium, you will feel the coolness on your skin as you sweat! Pretty awesome feeling that I have discovered as I was experimenting with my workout rituals. Another great way to use peppermint essential oil is to apply it on the back of the neck and shoulders throughout your workout to keep energy up.
* Essential oils such as Orange, Lemon, and Grapefruit are uplifting and summery! Using them topically or in water before a workout can energize and motivate you for those days you are less likely to exercise. Use caution when being exposed to sunlight because citrus oils are photosynthetic. I recommend using these oils topically for evening after sunset activities. Also, glass or metal bottle is preferred to avoid chemical interaction from the plastic.
*Deep Relief. This essential oils blend is formulated specifically to soothe muscle discomfort during and post workouts. Your muscles expand more easily in a warm/hot temperature and it is common not to feel soreness or discomfort right away during your outdoor summer activities. After the fact could be…OUCH!
